Need to carry 45 Mb full duplex on point to point link

Tue May 19, 2009 5:01 pm

Dear All ,,

I need to carry 45 Mb full duplex on point to point link with distance 20 Km using Transperent bridge with 2 RB433AH , 2 R52H and 2 flat penals " i have 20 dbi and 29 dpi " ..

i configure the point to point link with transperent bridge " bridge to wds-station " and its work normally in shorter distance but the max BW that its transfer it is 20 Mb ..

1- How can i increase the BW transfer ability in RB433AH to carry 45 Mb duplex on this point to point link ?
2- is the above hardware can do 20 Km distance normally ?
3- when i transfer 20 Mb throught he wireless point to point link the latency increased to 15 Msec but once the transfert completed its back normal 1 Msec .. is there any way to keep the latency low even with transfering the high data ?

Thanks and Kind Regards

Have you turnetd nstreme and framing on?
Can you use turbo channel?
For latency problem, do the shaping, better with external device.
Lets say your links max is 20 Mbit/s
If you do bw test's you will see something like this
1 mbps - 1 ms
10 mbps - 1 ms
19 mbps - 3 ms
20 mbps - 15 ms

Then shape you traffic to 19 max, and dont worry about it. But if you try to shape it on you wireless bridge device, your overall performance can drop. It's because you have to turn on bridge firewall.

First of all turn on nstreme.
When you press on wlan, look for nstreme tab. To enable it one routerbaord must be configured as bridge, or ap bridge if you have multipoint, ant on the other routerboard it should be station wds.
turbo channel is in wlaną -> wireless -> band. If you have option to set 5Ghz-turbo, try it.
For traffic shaping look for info in wiki.
