Is there any future plan's for dude to support IPv6 monitoring?
I suppose there is, so when should we expect it?

I'm testing IPv6 in my network and monitoring if device is responding on ipv4 and on ipv6 could be very helpfull.

+1 for this, With the work MT is doing for v6 it would be silly not to get the dude upto speed with it aswell

We'll begin to switch management to IPv6 in about 6 monthes and still no support.

First clients without IPv4 addresses anymore here in about 6 monthes.

We've just started using The Dude, but how do we monitor our IPv6 hosts?

Dude has not been updated in nearly 2 years. We hope to release a bugfix version in a few months.

Release date depends on how much free time they have - if it's like my free time availability, it ain't going to be any time soon!

I love the Dude... couldn't do my job without it. But the bugs (sorry, undocumented features) I find are really starting to irritate me.

So if you guys can find some spare time, or better still make a new 'paid for' professional version and therefore be able to justify development time to it... that would be really cool.

Would easily pay $100 for such a tool, if it were brought right up to date, supported ipv6 and worked on all platforms (with the same version too would be nice )

I'm totally agree with Nest. I would pay to have a new tool supporting IPv6 and other new features...

+1 for us too. We have around 50 MikroTik routers on our network, all monitored by Dude. It's one of just two things holding up our IPv6 cutover.

It is shame Mikrotik is not supporting modern standards in The Dude.. RouterOS is cappable of IPv6 - why The Dude is behind? We are stuck at old unsupported and failing beta release (with our own probe) because of IPv6 Mikrotik developers, please open your eyes and step into 21th century.

thank you for pointing to that post, i was not aware of that, today i was deploying new instances of dude on ros 6.x but looks like with 7.x dude comes to a end, all the work put into that has been lost

It's been semi-dead for years. But the package still exists even for latest v7 and so far nobody mentioned that it would be completely removed. So if you were happy with it until now, it seems that you can continue.

The statement from MikroTik (Normis) was that when it works for you, you can use it.
But there is no more development. So no need to ask for IPv6 support.
