SuperAG Features in routerOS

Fri Jun 12, 2009 9:17 am

Hi.

I Have a Point to Point Link Between a RB600A(with one Ubiquiti XR5) and Ubiquiti PS5-Ext, both with Hyperlink 27dbi antennas.

I need a lot of bandwidth, i read that with turbo-mode and superAG features i can reach a good real speed.

I set both in 5Ghz-Turbo(40Mhz) and set Fast Frame and bursting and PS5, but don't know how to set in RouterOS v3.10???

How i set the SuperAG Features in mikrotik?

I read here http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r221899 ... R5-How-to- that Mikrotik don't support the compression feature, is this true?

Thanks.

I set both in 5Ghz-Turbo(40Mhz)
if you set this in the RB600, then you are already configured. that's all there is.

You need to update to the lastest version of RouterOS. 3.10 is old.
Also, the PS5 is not a very fast device. You re very unlikely to get more than 20 Mbps. Put a routerboard on both sides for 40 Mbps +

I think you are right, cause the maximun speed reached is 18Mbps.

I have many point to point links, for my repeaters, with PS5 in both sides.

I going to try two mikrotik and post the results.

Can you recomend me two routerboards for point to point links that reach top speed?

Thanks Rk.

If you want a super high speed link and its not urgent, why not start testing with the 802.11n support now available?

A Turbo link on RB411 or better should be able to do what you need plus a bit more.

My question is, does RoS 4.2 support any super A features?

We tried it on 3.30 with limited success.

i would like to know too if the 4.2 version has support to 40mhz on 5.8 cards.

i've tried the Ubiquiti Xr5, and the 5ghz-Turbo isn't there and with 3.30 version, there is.

thaks.

check your settings, these cards are capable of 40MHz channels and they should work.

i have the same problem with UB5 cards.

When i done a downgrade to 3.30, with a reset configuration of the card, the 5ghz-turbo shows. I've tried the same with 4.2 and no success.
i'll make more tests.

thanks.

Hi

Any news on this issue, or have I missed some vital postings somewhere else.

I just installed 4 Ubiq Xr5 in seperate RB433ah and like the former poster, I too do not have turbo mode.

Am I missing something here, I could swear that they used to do turbo mode.

Thanks to Rudy for perhaps pointing out the obvious error by telephone.

"coutry setting" affects bandwidth too..

Could swear that it never used to be like that,.

Anyhow thanks for the feedback, problem sorted.
