Hi to all,

As I need to get connected to my local network from the Inet, I am trying to setup the VPN Server on my mikrotik (v3.13). From the local network (10......) the connection (with Windows XP) is working fine, but from the Inet is not working. I get connected but without getting an IP.
I will try to discribe what I have done, so we can find what is missed or wrong setted.

1) I have forwarded the port 1723 to the mikrotik ip (not the VPN Server ip)
2) I have setup the user id and the password for the VPN Server.
3) I have setup nat masquered for what is coming from the ip of the DSL modem (I am not sure that this it is correct)

Any "How to..." documentation for Dummies using Winbox will help also.
If anybody can understand, I would be appreciated for any help.

Hi,

I think you forgot to create an IP pool for your VPN clients. Take a look on it:
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/PPTPServer
it's not a winbox howto but will help you.


Almost forgot, usually you dont need any nat to make VPN work because
your vpn clients will get an IP of the same range of your LAN.
