I'm not yet a guru in hotspot biz. I just setup my base station some weeks ago, my wireless network doesn't cover my expectaion distance so i need to extend it by depoy more radio as a repeater. Please what do I need to achieve this, my base staion works fine, all I need si to extend my service foot print. though I have one 1watt ubiquiti radio on ground doing nothing for now.

you can make a Point to Point via Mikrotik flat panel from the base station to this place that you want to put the repeater . then you can broadcast your service via sector or omni . with a mikrotik router board.

I don't have router board.
can't I achieve it without the board ?

buy it, with out Point to Point device you can't do any thing.

a point to point is not necessarily required. How large is the "footprint" that you want to cover?

You could easily design this with 2-3 AP's with RB/411AH + Whip in a WDS mode, As long as they could achieve 36Mbps data rates (guessing around -65 to -73db) signal.

Also depends on how many people and the speed to customer that you want to provide.

PtP is ALMOST always better, but WDS can work great in many circumstances..

I'm really impressed for this forum assistance and information. My desire footprint is like 1km. already my base station has cover almost 4oometers air distance, though i think it should have cover more than that because the radio is 3watts radio with 16dbi omni-directional antenna but there is a lot of sky scraper building around me. so I need to extend my service by using repeater method.
But i have another 1watt radio with me UBIQUITI BULLET 2HP was writing on it can I use it by mounting it on another skyscraper at 200meter air distance to my base station just to extend my footprint ?
If yes then how do i do the setting and what else do i need apart from the radio.

increasing the power will just make matters worse, because you will also amplify noise. this is especially bad in metropolitan areas with interference.

if your clients are laptop computers, or any other devices with small antennas - they are not able to transmit back to you, even if they are able to hear your signal. both ends should be improved, boosting the AP doesn't help.

Your idea to add repeaters is much better.
