can any body show me step by step guide to setup mikrotik server through winbox

It all depends on what you want to achieve with your MT server.

I too am looking for a basic step by step to get me started. I have found a ton of great stuff in the manual, but most of it uses telnet commands and right now I'm stuck in the winbox config and am not having success configuring an ip address. That should be the first thing on this page: http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/2. ... /basic.php

I just purchased my RB450 from roc-noc, so I dont need to follow the install guide, but there should be an additional step added to that page for people who already have the unit installed. Or maybe I just need to look else where.

I have gone into IP > Addresses, and added...

Address: 10.0.1.1/24
Network: 10.0.0.0
Bcast: 10.0.0.255
interface: ether1

Hit ok, and am not getting any replies. Any thing I'm missing?

I had network/bcast wrong... I'm getting replies now.
