Wed Jul 29, 2009 3:46 pm

Hi All,

I am planning to use R52H wireless card with RB433, would like to know experiences, if somebodya has used it.

Requirement
1) How much max. throughput does it provide if used for 1KM, given LoS is there.
2) Is it compatible with Rb433 card.
3) I am using OS version -3.10, do i need to upgrade.

Regards,

Card's are supported the R52H is a nice little card 320mW, from current running systems i have 2 RB433 using R52H cards on a 6Km link using 2 24dbi grids on 5.4GHz freq.. pushing max 31Mbps (after some tweaks) for most of my links that's not using 802.11N i use XR5 or the new R5H card and must say the R5H card is really good and has performed better then expected. if you need more speed think of going to R52N using duel feed antennas or 2 antennas on each side with v and h polarization, using R433AH you will have no problem doing 180Mbps+ TCP if your link is good.

1) How much max. throughput does it provide if used for 1KM, given LoS is there.
*The distance is too close, you have to step down the tx power to get more throughput.
*If you plan to get the max throughput of the R52h, you should buy RB433AH but not RB433 (you will see the different when it working in turbo mode; 10Mbps different)
*RB433AH 680Mhz CPU + R52h card: 30Mbps full duplex or 47~50Mbps half duplex (TCP test).
*RB433 300Mhz CPU + R52h card: 24Mbps full duplex or 40~45MBps half duplex (TCP test)
*i suggest you set the 54M (7) 48(10) 36(13) if you using the 21dbi patch pannel antenna.

2) Is it compatible with Rb433 card.
*You mean the RB433 routerboard? if then, off course.

3) I am using OS version -3.10, do i need to upgrade.
*You should load the latest firmware to make it more better; v3.27 is available and it's good.
