Hello All -

I have ROS 3.24 running on an RB1000. One of my clients behind the router is running IPv6 and I am advertising the subnet to his VLAN. All is well, except that he is complaining that the router responds to solicitations for an IPv6 address from him cleint machines only intermittently. Here's the ND setup for his interface:
He is running Xen or something like it, so he was multiple virtual clients that come on and go off the network, and they are not always picking up an IPv6 address right away. He sees regular advertisements coming across the client network interface, but if he tries to reach out and grab an IPv6 address with rdisc6, it's haphazard: sometimes it works, sometimes it times out, with apparently many minutes between.

Any ideas out there? Do I need to tweak anything or set any additional parameters to get the router to respond promptly to inbound solicitations? Since we still don't have docs on the IPv6 module (that I can find), I'm a bit in the dark on this.

We are seeing the same problem. We have RB450s and RB493 running different ROS form 3.20 to 3.28 and when a new device is added to the network it can take up to 5 minutes before the device (computer, router whatever ) will pick up an address. if the router is rebooted everything will receive an address but it is not practical to be rebooting the router or restarting ND every time a new device is added to the network.
Any one have any ideas??

Ok - given that there's still not much production IPv6 stuff being done at this time (as compared to IPv4), I'll consider the fact that at least one other user has experienced this issue enough cause to open a support ticket with Mikrotik. I could not find much of anything on ND in the docs Wiki, so even if this is just a configuration issue, some help from the developer is warranted.

MikroTik has informed me that they will address this problem in v3.29.
