Hi
i have a cache server and a mikrotik rb1000. i want to redirect all http traffic from my mikrotik rb1000 to the cache server for web proxy cache. can any one please help me on how to do this?

setup transparent proxy in RouterOS, set Parent proxy = your external proxy

hi. thanks------the external proxy is now working but one more thing.
do i have to enable X-Forwarded-For in my external proxy? because right now some sites are not opening while using the external proxy.

i dont know why. but browsing became slow and some pages are not reachable.

have you disabled caching in RouterOS's proxy?..

did u mean disabling web proxy at web proxy settings? no, i have enabled webproxy cos thats where i set my parent proxy address but cache on disk is disabled.

i have a problem with webproxy. it is the following: i have set the right rule but when i go in a site i cannot see it.
i have a pool of public ip but i go on internet with the public ip of the mikrotik.
where is the problem?

proxy hides your ip. your ip is sent in X-Forwarded-For HTTP value

what's funny? it's by design. if you want to spoof users' IPs - you should use external Squid with Balabit TProxy
