VPN Not working Using Private WAN

My ISP has given me a private WAN address. My static IP is on the ISP router which forwards to my WAN.

So for example:

My Public: 216.1.1.1

My WAN: 10.0.192.161

When I try and make a VPN tunnel the remote router (LinkSys RV042) has in the VPN log:

"Expected 216.1.1.1 but got 10.0.192.161"

Then it gives up as it thinks it got the wrong address.

I believe the ISP actually NATs that IP to me at their internet gateway.

Does anyone know how to get around this?

thanks for any help!

Sounds like a very odd public addr. Did you check e.g. http://www.whatismyip.com/

I didnt put the real Public IP. I should have said 216.x.x.x

The connection works great except for VPN ipsec connections.

I think your ISP needs to check his router setup and allow VPN passthrough.
