Cisco br340 and mikrotik

Wed Jun 15, 2005 12:45 pm

Hi all,

I'm trying to replace a root cisco 340 bridge accting as a access point with a mikrotik. It seems that all my clients can associate to the mikrotik except for one cisco br340 also acting as a access point. I've tried everything. I managed evntualy to get the cisco to associate but i'm unable to ping any hosts connected to that cisco's ethernet port. I can ping the cisco bridge but no hosts connected to it. I thought it might be STP related but i even tried disabling the STP on cisco.

Mikrotik is setup as a AP/Bridge mode with the ethernet and Wlan bridged.

I believe the BR340 uses a proprietary method when acting as a bridge/AP to another bridge.

The proprietary protocol can only be disabled when it is in root mode. I'm not using it in root mode. I've tried it in access point mode, bridge only mode and client mode. Still i had no success. Even tried with root mode but then it is acting independently, for instance the frequency. If i would enable the wds on mikrotik will the other end users still be able to associate?
