I have a RB450 with 3.28 OS. A remote VPN connection from a Linksys RV42 connection works and is good can initiate and ping connections starting on either end.

However if the remote connection drops and the 450 tries to ping the remote, it doesnt seem to know its dropped and just times out. If I flush the connection, then the 450 creates a new connection and everything is good again. Obviously I cannot manually flush the connection all the time. I set DPD to 10 but that didnt see to make any difference.

Any ideas?

Both ends need to support DPD otherwise the setting on the RB will be ignored.
