L2TP Server and tunnel swtiching

Thu Jun 16, 2005 1:57 am

Hi.

Anybody knows a way to do L2TP tunnel swtiching with the RouterOS?
Just to retunnelize an L2TP session into other outgoing tunnel.

We are able to do it with Cisco. We recieve the L2TP tunnels and sessions, and if the user is setup in that way on the radius server (also could be configured locally), instead of creating the interface and stablish locally the PPP session, we create an outgoing tunnel to other LNS and forward (bridge) the incoming tunnel to the outgoing one.

The normal use, possible with RouterOS and Cisco as LNS:

PPP connection ---> LAC (Acccess Server) --- L2TP ---> LNS

With tunnel switching:

PPP connection ---> LAC (Acccess Server) --- L2TP ---> LNS1 --- L2TP ---> LNS2

In that case LNS2 could be a RouterOS or Cisco router, but we found no way to set up something like that using RouterOS as LNS1. Maybe possible doing some bridging between interfaces/tunnels?

If somebody finds the light i'll be so proud to have news about it.
