Hotspot 'Why" Question

Mon Sep 28, 2009 7:54 pm

Hey Guys -

I had a problem this morning with one of my hotspots, where it wouldn't let you login. My setup (weird I know) is that I have one sole user on the hotspot so that it has free access, and I've allowed this user to have 200 instances. All I had to do was delete/recreate the user, but I was curious if there was something that I could do to prevent this in the future. For now, using the user manager is out of the question, and I'm required to have the users agree to the "Acceptable Use Policy." They accept by clicking "I Agree" and I have the user information hidden in the login form.

I was just curious why this happened - no big deal, but curiosity always kills the kitty.

You can use the trial access option in hotspot, and it should automatically comment out the login information on the login/acceptable use page. You still have to have license level 4 or better even though you don't have actual named users.

Thanx for the suggestion - I may give that a go. This particular hotspot has been operational for a couple of months now and it's worked flawlessly. I'm hoping (there are things that are out of my control) to actually move to user manager soon. At least by the end of the year.
