Corrupt license file

I read in some topics, that the license file may become corrupt or the cf card may die, which causes RouterOS to run without a valid license file.

So, I am wondering, what does and does not keep functioning in RouterOS, without a valid license file. Does it stop functioning (completely or partially?) or does it keep working for at least 24 hrs (as a trial license)?

Is there a way to avoid this situation, other than having a complete spare including license having stand-by? I just want to avoid that the network is down while everybody is enjoying their weekend:-)

Thanks for your time.

Perhaps it is possible to backup the license file?

The ROS license was tied to the cf device when it was first installed. When you first formatted and installed ROS on the cf card, a software_ID was created. You bought a license based on that ID.

When you install another cf card, a unique software_ID will be generated for that card. You cannot specify a software_ID, MT creates it for you.

So you have no way to move a ROS license from one cf to another. It will not work.

You can buy a second license for another cf card and have it ready for a cold swap.

So If my Wrap 2c/MT Level 4 dies with:
Your disk file system is corrupted!
Please, reinstall you router
System halted

I have to pay $40 to get a new license?
