I have tried to run "The Dude" on Ubuntu 9.04 by using both Wine & Codeweavers crossover. Despite running as root via gksudo I am unable to ping anything and therefore discovery does not work. Any suggestions?

Are you running both the client + the server part under ubuntu? I've got it working great, but I only run the client under linux.
