Router keeps rebooting itself over and over. (RB450G V4.2)

Dear Gurus,

I am noobie here. And need help, please.

This is my first real problem with RB450G.

Without any ethernet cable connections to it, my RB450G (version 4.2) appears to start OK judging by the two beeps. And it would stay on.

But if I hook it up via one of its ports, it will reboot itself over, over and over …. ad nauseum.

Since it won't stay on I can’t access the router via Winbox or Webbox since it keeps rebooting itself. It’s on V4.2.

Additional info: It was working fine after I updated to v4.2. In an attempt to learn more more VLAN, I changed the interface of one specific VLAN from its own ether port to the main LAN interface and the router starts its rebooting symptom.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you.

A serial null-modem cable and HyperTerminal should get you out of it. You might also be able to connect by mac address if you can use another ethernet port without the VLAN assigned.
