What's new in 4.3:

*) API - fixed possible crash when running concurrent commands;
*) console - fixed logging commands: 'warning', 'error' and 'debug' were
all using 'info' topic;
*) bgp - added routing-table configuration option for instances;
*) bgp - added 'as-override' and 'passive' configuration options for peers;
*) bgp - added support for Site of Origin extended communities;
*) bgp - fixed some network issues;
*) ospf - fixed problem: when last neighbor on multi-access interface disappeared,
incorrect RouterLSA was generated on designated router;
*) metarouter - allow to specify metarouter's memory size when importing image;
*) firewall - added 'routing-table' matcher;
*) fixed problem - e1000 driver did not work in virtual machines;

ok, just installed 4.3 on a 433uah and it basically turned two of the interface into "ghost interfaces" (everything looks normal, no traffic going over them)
downgraded back to 4.2 and all good again

Just an FYI

actually, it was my feature request :) this function should check, whether ip address have a route in selected routing table... but seems like it can only check dst-address... what about src?

I also requested 'routing-table' matcher when talking with Sergejs at the USA mum. Thanks to Mikrotik team for adding this feature, it will make my life a lot easier.

Now I just need to implement it!

gbh, it is very important to get more information about your configuration, we need support output file from the router in 4.3, when the problem is present. Please send file to support@mikrotik.com
We have upgraded few RB433UAH, it seems they are working fine.

Chupaka, Great minds think alike!

I have a good idea of how this new "routing-table" works, and how to implement it, but it would be great if Mikrotik support could put some notes in the wiki describing this new feature, I see there is a note on the BGP wiki page but but it would be good to have a description on the filter page as well as info on how the "routing-table" works inside RouterOS logically...

Again, thanks for the great work Mikrotik.

Disaster.

We have a number of RB750s which have upgraded from 3.29 to 4.2 with no problems at all.

Upgrading a 750 from 3.29 to 4.3 bricked the 750 :-(

About to try a netinstall.

Tried a reset first and that cured it. Strange.

Is anyone else having trouble with their OSPF routers not passing traffic after an interface goes up and down? A reboot fixes this, but it's pretty annoying to have to log in via MAC-Telnet every time I want to upgrade firmware on an adjacent router.

Also, in the process of upgrading ~20 or so wireless bridges to 4.3, one of them lost their license. I'm not really sure how. But when I attempt the license update I get: "failed: the key is upgraded and have changed software ID!"
Any thoughts?

You should email support with your current Supout.rif file, and they will check why it says that.

on begining sorry for my english

yes, on begining I upgrade licenses and firmware on all my board rbxx,
next upgdade MT from 3.28 to 4.3.

configuration my link:
2xRB433AH
card: R5H
ap bridge --1km-- station wds
enable nstreme
enable polling
framer policy: best fit
framer limit: 4000
link ccq: 95-100%/95-100%
tr/rx rate: 54Mbps/54Mbps

link are disconnect every 10-15 minutes,
when I make Bandwidth test, link are disconnect every 20-30 s.
result bandwidth test is tx/rx ~22Mbps/22Mbps (when link work)

when I was downgrade MT from 4.3 to 3.30 my problem with disconnect link was gone.

We are experiencing the same problem, also turbo mode very unstable.
Also suspect nstreme to be problematic.

You have right, when I was turn off nstreme, link work good, under 5GHz and 5GHz-turbo.

In my opinion, nstreme in MT4.3 have bug!

May Be a BUG, but I have only noticed this in 4.X releases. On some random ( or seems random ) time, the NAtting does not work,, IE I can access all devices on my LAN side bridge, and the other Brdige for WAN, which has ether 2 as cable conenction, and Ether 3 as Voip phone ( So voip gets public IP) Basically two bridges on the 493AH, and Nat from my subnet to the WAN - Bridge.

WAN side bridge works, and LAN side bridge two, just no NAT between them. ( rule in place, just stops functioning)
I try to reboot, via winbox, and it reboots, but, same issue, No internet connectivity from LAN bridge side.

I have even restored a backup file, and same issue, what seems to fix this is a actual SHUTDOWN, then unplug power and power up again. This has happened to me about 5 times so its difficult to pinpoint where the problem was. The last one, an upgrade from 4.1 to 4.3 stopped nat right after the reboot/install Combined package. restore of a backup file did not fix it, ( backup was made via ver 4.1 ) Only power cycle device worked, other times restoring the backup and after boot fixed it.

Wierd.. Will post more detail if it happens again.

Come to think of it, I thonk this happened on ver 3.28 - 3.30. Thought it was an ISP issue, but then the tech was actually smarter then me, he said, but you said you are calling from a VOIP phone.... Ahhh Yes, so I guess Internet works.. Lan side activity works, but No NAT translation.

I do however, which I hope is not the issue, have two NAT rules for two subnets. IE Ether 1 has ip range 192.168.17.0/24 Out Interface is Bridge - WAN, where as my Lan side Ethers 4 - 9 are on Bridge - LAN and out interface is Bridge - WAN Will two rules witht he same out interface cuase this issue?

this is a know issue, it gives kernel panic when you set an N card to 5mhz channel. Currently we haven't figured out how to fix the small channel suppport for the RouterOS.

Model RB433AH - and same problem with 2 ethernet cards, on 3.30 all 3 interfaces work fine, on 4.3 - work only ether1, ether2 and ether3 don't work at all. Outgoing traffic is, incoming - no. Configuration - restored default config.
Wireless N ( R52N ) card work trought bridge fine (v4.3), registration table ratio : 300-HT/54 signal strength -47 -50 , on second end - Windows 7 pc with R52N card too, all fine.

I still think it's cool that new routeros versions come out and whole routerboard platforms seize to work.
Don't you guys test new routeros versions on the boards? How can someone NOT notice if several ethernet port groups don't work?

Thank god I'm not using auto update...
As much as I like RouterOS and the Mikrotik Routerboards, but something like that just should not happen.
It's not like there are 100s of different routerboards out there.

It's totally understandable if new RouterOS versions kill certain hardware combinations on x86, you can't have every single piece of x86 hardware,
but the obvious reason to buy Routerboards is exactly that one would reckon that RouterOS is tested there...

So, enough ranting :) Keep up the improvements otherwise! Some very useful features in this revision.

Hi Guys
I setup a test environment inside today between two alix outdoor aps. It seems the 4.3 Nsteam is really buggy. If i enable nstreme and setup the bandwidth test between two end points the link is up and down every 30 seconds. Remove nstreme and it is stable.

I have a issue....

I upgraded a RB 153 from 4.2, which was working fine, to 4.3, which rebooted, worked fine.. I manually rebooted via system reboot after its uptime was about 1 week. After this the board has not connected via wireless to the AP, and will not show up with winbox on any of the ethernet ports. IE the scan does not show up with any MAC address, and the board does not assign IP addresses. A Scan from the AP that it is supposed to connect to does not show any wireless MAC for the wireless card in the 153.

Yes, I know, running 4.X on a RB 153 probably wasn't the best choice, but it worked... Any idea on what I can try, other then going out in the freezing cold, on the roof with snow hopeing that I dont slide off and break a leg.. This is when I wish I ran another cable for the serial port!

Hi,

I have same problem with ethernet not working properly after upgrading to 4.3. The problem is that ethernet connection (at least ether1) drops suddenly for 1 or 2 seconds and then it works again for 3 or 4 seconds. I've tried to change cable with no success.

Where can I download 4.2 now? Waiting for 4.4 to be alive is not a solution.

Thanks.

Same issue, as in, board locking up, or having to go on the snow covered roof to get it off? ( The board that is :-) )
