Updating from rc2

Wed Jul 20, 2005 1:24 am

We have a couple of RB500 units that have been up since install - but they're still running rc2.

They're both some distance away, and both in heavy use - it would be very inconvenient if they broke.

Has anyone had an RB500 unit *not* upgrade properly? Is there any risk to uploading the new software and rebooting? I would rather never remote field-upgrade software, but rc2 isn't letting us use extra-channels, and this is a problem.

Experiences please?

Hi Jon.

I have been updating from RC2 to RC7 on my all RB532 units with no problem att all.

The only thing i have is one of the units that will not run more than 266 Mhz , so the safe CPU Setting is to high in the RC7 (333Mhz).So when i was updating the bios an i did a power cycle the unit faild.
