crappy ping result lol

Tue Feb 02, 2010 4:59 am

ok i got an access point, and a repeater an om1p running dd-wrt and i get crappy ping result even with 30db signal to noise and it is between the repeater and the ap (rb433). laptop to the ap does not have any problems ping avg is <6ms but dhcp-server response takes forever.

i did a reset of the interface on the ap, but other then that i dont know where to begin investigate. are there any standard procedures in tracking down where the problem lays??

What is your DD-WRT wireless chipset? Broadcom maybe?

I've noticed very erratic ping times with Gemtek chipsets on client machines.

the chipset is atheros on both the mikrotik ap, and the dd-wrt repeater
it got a lot better without doing anything, signal/noise stayed the same less then 1% package drooped, bt ping time is still all over the place from 7ms >1000ms and avg 200ms
