RB1000U initial configuration issue

Tue Feb 16, 2010 4:16 pm

Dear sir,

i have purchased new RB1000u, when i power ON it then used winbox for configuration but i didnt get its mac address, i think there is no routerOS installed as resseler told me that the OS is already installed.when routerboard purachsed, is OS already installed? then i contact mikrotik support and advised me to use netinstalled software for re-installation but i dont have CD and license for new installation. i have used cable which has one end DB9 and another END is Rj-45, is it a right cable? or both Ends should be DB9 of the required cable?

Please help me.

Umm you need a RS-232 DB9 null modem cable. The config on the serial port is 115200 baud, 8N1.

Here is the netinstall page on the wiki

Yes all routerboards come with RouterOS preinstalled.
