How to Choose the right Antenna

Greeting All,,

I am maintaining a 26 Km Link, and I am wondering about the right practical and theoretical procedure to choose the right antenna, I am using the 433H.

Thanks Alot, But I am asking about the theo and practical process on how to decide that.

could any one shed some light on that plz.

For a quick and dirty way, go the the Proxim site and download there Link calculator spread sheet. The genaric section will allow you to put in distance, rx, tx and will calculate the link reliability. In general for back hauls shoot for 99.999%, lower level links could drop to 99.95-99.99%. Remember if you have several links back to back your overall reliability will be less then 99.999% even if all your links meet that bench mark.

You should also consider a package to do a complete link analysis so you don't take chances with reflection from signal fade... etc.
