hello,
how many clients/persson support the 450G
or the RB1000U ?

i have bandwith= 5MB and i want to put in this 150 - 200 clients with the bandwith limited on MAC and IP . does the 450G work with this configuration ?

I think RB450G will handle it fine

if i make a ppoe server on eth3, eth4 with 150 clients 200clients you think it will work great, without any disruption and without falling down
(i want to make an isp with maxim 200 clienti)

I have 2 of RB-450B

I'm using one of RB-450B for PPTP server.
ether1 connect to 100Mbps from ISP1(Dynamic Public IP Address with DDNS setting) and ether2 connect to 100Mbps from ISP2(235 Public Static IP Address of C class IP Block)

All client access to ether1 with domain name and they got Public IP Address from ether2 ISP.

Unfortunatly Most of Client access from outside of my country.
So Maximum Actual Total Bandwidth is just 40Mbps at ether1(average 20Mbps)

during last 3 day testing with 200~220 Clients, it working fine but CPU usage reach to 80% sometime.

I'm pretty much sure pppoe service lighter then PPTP service. it will fine with 200 customer.

it might work but at 200 I think you will throw it away. Anyway you will see when the number of clients is growing.

Fortunatly each RB-450B with license Level 5 only support 200 PPTP Tunnel and also C-class IP block can accept Maximum 252 clients. so it will be OK with 200 Clients.
If i need more Public IP clients then i will buy one more RB-450B and add one more 100Mpbs Line with C class IP block. It cost less then my profit.

1.sorry for my perseverence but if i make an firewall,bridge,ppoe connections and other configuration for 200 customers ,the rb450g its works great ? without crash.?

2. rb1000u how many customers with firewall bridge and ppoe conections will works ?
