Universal Client on different class subnet

Wed Aug 03, 2005 1:57 pm

Hi All,

I have managed to get Universal Client to work, however when i try to access the Hot Spot with a static IP that is in a different address class it doesnt work.

ie. at the momment our DHCP pool address is 192.168.1.x with subnet mask 255.255.255.0

i can access the hotspot when i set a static IP address in any range eg. 10.x.y.z or 192.168.x.y as long as i keep the same subnet mask (255.255.255.0).

As soon as i set the subnet mask to something different one-to-one NAT stops working.

eg. if i set the IP address 192.168.0.1 with subnet mask 255.255.0.0 it stops working. Is there a way around this or am i just missing something simple?

Thanks in advance
