Could someone explain the best way and what settings I should have for discovered items that I want to update and not end up with duplications on my map. When an update is run, I often get the same name computer appearing twice but with it's new IP address

I appreciate the discovery checks the DNS entries and when using DHCP a single computer name could be assigned two IP addresses unless scavenging is performed on a regular basis, but how my map is now is becoming unworkable.

1. Update without creating duplications, can the system check my already added items and know the name exists and simply update its IP address

2. What settings for item, e.g DNS Lookup

3. How can I update and it simply show a connection line between the PC and switch its connected to rather than a messy layout

Just dont ever use discovery if at all possible. Always been a problem...
