I posted to support@mikrotik.com but just wondering if anyone else seen the DNS forwarder/Masq crash out?

It stopped taking remote requests., but it seems it still is locally working, (I can resolve sites Ok still on the router itself)

[admin@Jarvis] /ip dns> print

action timed out - try again, if error continues contact MikroTik support and send a supout file (13)

[admin@Jarvis] /ip dns>

Had the packet size set to 1024, and the cache size set to 8192.
Version 4.6

Just to be clear, what RouterOS version is this happening on?

Edit: nm, I failed to read the OP full post... it was v4.6

I haven't had this happen on v4.6 x86. Can you determine the dns packets, cpu-load, etc.. when this happens?

I got a reply from Mikrotik support to disable dude package, to see if it stops crashing, you can try that too.

It happened to us also, but on earlier versions of ROS. We opened ticket with mikrotik support, but after few initial e-mails, never heard from them again on this subject. Our solution was to disable DNS on mikrotik and user external linux server as DNS forwarder.
