HOW TO USING WINBOX TO CONFIG HOTSPOT

Hi

Can someone me to config hotspot thru the winbox.The last time I tryed I messed up and had to reset my router.

go to ip hotspot, and than "setup" button :wink:
follow setup guide, that's all.

hotspot interface=omini-directional
enable universal client=yes

ip pool=10.0.0.1-

Go to this link and read on the setup

or run the setup and follow the info below and punch in your own figures to correspond to your network

[admin@MikroTik] > ip hotspot setup
hotspot interface: ether1
local address of network: 192.0.2.1/24
masquerade network: yes
address pool of network: 192.0.2.2-192.0.2.126
select certificate: none
ip address of smtp server: 0.0.0.0
dns servers: 192.0.2.254
dns name: hs.example.net
name of local hotspot user: admin
password for the user: rubbish

If u wans access router via winbox you have to do as following

set hotspot port as
/ip services set hotspot 80
and www port as
/ip services set www 8081

and define ip address on router's local interface like
192.168.1.1/29 as wel as 192.168.1.2/26 ip on your local PCs from where to access winbox.

now download winbox keeping address 192.168.1.1:8081

double click on winbox and put 192.168.1.1:8081 in winbox

I suggest upgrade to 2.9 version and configure HotSpot.

are u saying that setting hotspot it should always be set to ether1?Not the omini?

no! you have to set in on that interface where you will have the hotspot users . duh :)
