Sierra Wireless MC 5725 W/ 411U

Mon May 17, 2010 4:57 pm

Using MC5725 PCIe modem that isn't being recognized by the 411U. Tried 2 different 411s and 2 different MC5725s but no luck. Not even showing up in the system/ports. I see that this is supported but would like to know if anyone has these particular modems up and running.

Thanks,

Chris

Make sure you have the latest version installed on your router (MikroTik RouterOS 4.9). Contact support (support@mikrotik.com) with support output file attached from the router, where card is plugged.

I realize this is a very dated post, but did you ever get a reply?

I have a MC 5725 modem as well - because it is on the approved hardware list, and I'm looking to connect to Verizon and Sprint in the US - and I have the same results - no listing in ports, nothing.

How did you get this modem to register and operate?

I am pretty sure that the MC 5725 requires PCIe signaling as well as USB. The miniPCIe slot on the 411 is USB only.

Perhaps the compatibility is under x86 ROS with a board that supports PCIe.

I have this same modem and other Sierra Wireless miniPCIe and none of them are detected by drivers. I have tried with both ROS and OpenWRT.
