anyone with an idea of how long would a ptp link using XR5 and 31dbi grid antenna cover.

Using this utility. http://www.afar.net/rf-link-budget-calculator/

You can plug in the TX power of your card: 23dB @ 54Mb
You can plug in the Antenna gains: 31dB on both ends.
Set the receive sensitive to -74 dB.

Once this is done you can adjust the distance to match what you want for your Fade Margin. I prefer 20dB fade margin which makes it about 20 Miles.

If you will be using 40Mhz channel you should drop the TX power to 20db.
