Hi all,
Everynow and then My Hotspot AP will seem to stop giving out leases, seemingly because of an
accumulation of 1 or 2 clients being offered leases and not getting one. The AP keeps trying to hand out leases to the one or
two clients. The other clients seem to have IP's but the CCQ is non existent on any client.
After a point it seems to keep the other 4 or 5 clients from getting IP's at all.
If I reboot the AP, all is well.
Any ideas?
the Picture shows the problems in blue, then after rebooting AP the rest seem to be fine.

If the pattern continues with that mac address, you might consider blocking a connection

I have started doing mac filtering on the AP. And yes, I think you've got the right approach. But nope, it's not always the same mac.
And, if you notice the last 2 macs are taken out. They are very close and are generally good. So, I don't know if the previous device with the many failed lease offerings, took them out. I don't know why it (AP) can't adjust and settle back in, I believe that's a function of auto-ack? , that's just not working.
I get a lot of distant clients, that might be passing through. Sometimes they stay in the area just out of their range, but within range of
My AP, meaning My AP can see/hear them but they can't hear my AP, sorta.
So, I started filtering those types of clients, and seems to help with CCQ and ack seems to become stable.
Ofcourse, I can't do that on a 24 hr. basis, If that is actually what's causing the problem.
I mentioned previously, I had a client come in with an amplified (1amp) 9dbi omni, (5-milewifi) . He, was @ 100 yrds, away, but the auto ack on my ap wanted to go 27 kms. Completely screwed everything up. Gave him an alpha/gsky usb external , everthing was fine.
I may not have mentioned, I'm running a hotspot in a marina.
So, I get a lot of different clients

I had a challenge like this a couple years ago. I had my radios (R52H) set for max power. The problem was they could hear my transmitter, but I couldn't hear theirs. I now set my transmitters to 22db and use antennas to increase the gain to max allowed by the FCC.

I'll turn my ap down a couple db, was at 28.
My antenna is 9dbi low gain, but should be fine to @ 100-200 yrds at least.
I actually I can get 3 Mbps download @ 1/4 mile away on my laptop with n card to my AP 40 ft up on mast.

I've got a question:

Should I start another thread?
I cannot enable a site (video on youtube i created to demonstrate how to signup to my hotspot (for dummies).
I've entered IP's in walled garden, the FQDN, everything, I think?, into the walled garden and walled garden IP.
Also, I embeded the code created from the youtube video, pasted it into a simple html (signup.html) page and put that in the in the hotspot directory and created a href to "http://login.hotspot.com/signup.html and cannot get either way to work I put that in walled garden.
I created a line of code in the login page: <button onclick="document.location='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juZt0EhG5S8'"> Click here for signup demo</button> which goes to the youtube site where I uploaded the video i created from a screen record.
Can't get it to go either!
I'd rather use the page I created and put i the hotspot directory.
I this doable?

You would be better off to have started a new thread. More people might know about the new subject, but little of the original.

The problem is the complexity of youtube. Have you loaded the youtube home page, or any other youtube page for that matter, and looked at the html source code? There are a LOT of off-site links there, and it appears some will be required for the video to run.

And you should be able to use the hotspot as a "mini-webserver", but only on the hotspot interface. If the video is small enough to fit into the router, upload it to the hotspot directory, then refer to it directly. If you look in " /file", the video should show as "hotspot/video.wmv", but on the html doc, refer to it as "/video.wmv"
