Negative signal to noise

Tue Aug 10, 2010 4:06 pm

Hi to all,

lately, I have noticed strange behavior in wireless registration table on one wlan interface (sector antenna attached to it). Noise floor is moving from -78db to -101db during the day. On all other wlan's noise floor is always around -99 to -101db, either panel or sector antennas.

When the noise floor is bad, I'm getting negative signal to noise, yet, link is still good (ccq around 80-90%).

Board is 433ah, radio is wistron dcma82, ros 4.10.

I've changed radio card, antenna cable, always the same... Any idea what is going on?

Thx to all, best regards, Petar.

I don't have much to offer, however, I do have a 333 running that shows 10dB worse rx from the client on one channel than any others, tho the speeds connect as they would if it were 10dB better.

Every now and then a couple of customers will show -101 signal with a noise floor of -96 and still work just fine. It was a replacement for an AP that got hit by lightning. At first I though the antenna was fried, but they all connected just as before, same speeds, good CCQ, but odd signal readings on the AP itself.
