Synchronous interface layer one access

I am currently using a DS3 PCI card in my MT router. I know others are running other synchronous cards at various speeds. My question (request for help) is regarding access to layer 1 diagnostics. How can I see the various counters etc. I'm use to seeing on these types of interfaces to monitor the health of my wan? And how do I initiate a remote loopback and BERT the line? How can I see red/yellow/blue alarms?

Some of this even relates to ethernet interfaces. How can I see collisions, short frames, and all the other normal stats that a linux 'ifconfig eth0' would give me?

I'm finding it very difficult to diagnose problems without these tools.

Thanks!

What T3 card are you using?

Is it the SBE?

Yes, the SBE/LMC card. The ethernet's I'd like to see stats/counters on are just run of the mill typical cards, including Mikrotik's RouterBOARD 44
