Hardware retries...again, plus a hello

Hi all, new to the group and just installed our first 433 board with an XR2 radio, this replaced an existing MT 450 tethered to an Engenius 2611P Access point.
The AP side of the 433 is serving 50 clients, the router portion is handling PPPOE and shaping. We have it set-up pretty well but a few things we'd like to fine tune. I know I'm beating a dead horse as I have scoured the forum for the answer and am now more confused than ever.

Hardware retries:
From what I understand lower (4 or less) is better for PMP and higher is better for PTP (15), but it can be adjusted for either for tweaking purposes.
With 50 clients ranging from 2km to 20km off one sector antenna what would be optimum for this setting, or if that can't be answered, is closer to 2 better generally than closer to 15? We currently have it set at 9.

Anything else worth tweaking up?
disconnect timeout?
on fail retry time?

Thanks all

i think the best hardware retries cant use exactly same like default, according to client who's various level, ranges and position associated to one sectoral antenna , i advice you can separate the short clients into PtMP with sectoral 2,4 Ghz and the long range clients into PtP with grid 5,8 Ghz for the best signal's and Tx/Rx throughput. TIA
