latency in PPPoE connections

Fri Oct 01, 2010 7:52 pm

Hi all!

I started to use PPPoE last week in my customers that are using 5.8Ghz radios. With fixed IP Address I've the latency between 1ms and 5ms and when I setup PPPoE the latency is between 30ms and 40ms.

The PPPoE server is a RB1000 and the server is running on the ether2. The local IP address is on ether2 interface. I've about 50 PPPoE connections together.

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks

We had the same problem when using encryption with PPPoE sessions. When disabling encryption it resolved it for us. We used a RB450G as the PPPoE server and Ubiquity devices as clients.

Hi Fabricio, did you found an answer to this issue? We are experiencing the same here.
