High Power miniPCI radio Cards for RB433AH

Sun Oct 10, 2010 4:54 am

Hi

Can anyone suggest high power miniPCI cards ( need to install 3 of them into RB 433AH ) with 800mw to 1000mw of power. I need 3 of them to be installed inside mikrotik RB433AH.

I need cards that support 801.11 a/b/n ( seperate or all in one). ( MIMO optional )

Price suggestions are also welcome.

P.S

( Mikrotik miniPCI Cards have WEAK signals ) but work/average are ok, need to push signal thru trees

Thank you in advance.

With trees, more power is generally not a solution. Valemont makes a 1000mW miniPCI but you won't fit more than one in an RB433.

http://www.wlanparts.com/product/KXS30S ... 000mW.html

However, you won't find cards that will fit 3x into an RB433 with that kind of power.

I would suggest evaluating 900Mhz as the lower frequency will get through the trees a bit better.

Also, try an OFDM and/or MIMO solution if you are using DSSS (802.11b)

Clients are pc and laptops in range of the 2.4 radio, my goal is 0.5 to 1 km radius from AP.

Trying to set up in chain a hotspot in my neighborhood. 2 Radios in 5.8 and 1 radio in 2.4.

What is the ultimate Mini PCI card for this 433AH unit.

My goal is to get at least 500 meters from AP to AP. and 0.5 to 1 Km on 2.4 antenna.

Any mini PCI can offer that? What is you minipci advice?

thx

For 3 mini PCI's to fit into one 433AH u need compex/alfa/dbii/mikrotik etc. cards with around 200mW output. As you go higher power cards come with heatsinks fitted n then u cannot fill in the three 433A slots..
You can try 2 high power 800 mW alfa cards and use it with antenna to let signal thru trees one other card 200mW whr u find LOS clear.

Alfa Minipcis are not good, :( . I need a card at least -30 C or -40. For Canadian Weather.
