Link Issues

Tue Oct 19, 2010 10:18 pm

Hi Guys,

This link is setup only for 2 clients at the same area. I have a wireless setup PTMP 2.4ghz. I have an MT box at the NOC and my client place as well. The link worked fine for about 3 months. 3 days after a heavy rain the link to both clients started to perform badly. I am pushing 4meg to the client. my client could bearly even get 500k now. I have changed the A/P, antenna, link cable, and LMR400 cable and the problem still exist. Have any body experience this b4.

Thank you in advance

usually after a heavy rain you can have bad performance due to the fact that water or moisture will get to you antena/cable/device.

throughput values are usually meaningless. tell us values of radio signals, noise, and CCQ values.

you can find in it /interface wireless registration-table

did you had a signal degradation after the rain ? have you checked you instalation for water presence ?

My POE was the culpit. My POE together with my UPS was causing the bandwidth reduction. When the clients demanded more bandwidth the POE was not able to supply enough power to the radio. After changing these units the system works fine.
