Hi.

For 3 years now I have Windows 2000 dial-in server which has 2 serial PCI cards with 8 ports for each, so I have connected to them 16 analog modems and I my clients are using as dial-up to connect to internet. I am wondering if I can use this card with Mikrotik. In windows each port is recognized as serial port, ofcourse throught w2000 driver, but there is also available to download linux driver.

It is "UART Type: 16550", if you need exact card type number I'll give it to you after I open server and see what it was.

"UART Type: 16550" may mean that this card is emulating a standard PC serial port (in this case, yes it is supported), but this is unlikely. The presense of Linux drivers does not inheretently mean the RouterOS supports it - please see the Device Driver List for more information on which particular cards MT is supporting.

Lets suppose that Mikrotik supports this card, now, can I make Dial-in server, actually can I put 16 analog modems and can I get Mikrotik 'listening' for incomming connections and accepting with users, probably I have to use Radius, but the real question is can I use Mikrotik for Dail-in server.
