PPPoe recieved PADO with unknown host-uniq dropping

This just repeats

This service goes back to a carriers LAC which authenticates against our LNS. We dont see any traffic from the LAC for the mikrotiks (but ciscos work fine).

When we connect the same pppoe profile against a bba-group terminated on the LNS with the same virtual template it all works fine.

The router is currently running on 5.0rc3 was originally on rc1.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?
I have tried basically every iteration and option that mikrotik has (in regards to pppoe) to no avail.

Sincerely,

Actually is there anyway to just disable the function that is causing this issue?

It must be a checking function, "received PADO with unknown host-uniq, dropping "

Alright, for anyone else who gets this issue:

Basically the routeros system looks to have an issue with any pppoe system terminated against a LAC, and when the session is forwarded to the LNS for authentication the router os sees the new host uniq for the LNS and drops the session.

This appears to be an issue with the router os implementation of PPPoe, I have read another few forum posts which confirm a similar situation.

I cannot debug this any further, firmware changes from old to new dont make a difference and it is definitely not a hardware fault (happening on multiple different devices). We have for the time being made the pppoe session terminate against a linksys router which works fine.

We are coming across the exact same issue, does anyone know a work around?

Surely this must be affecting all ISPs in the UK who use BT?

HI

Did anyone get to the bottom of this. We are seeing this on a few of devices (RB750). We have updated the sofftware to the latest but it does not help.

Thanks

Everyone in this message thread should send a message to support@mikrotik.com so they know it is a serious problem.

I have provided packet traces for this to Mikrotik and been awaiting a response for 10 days now. Hopefully this means they have confirmed an issue..........

Mikrotik - any news on Ticket#2013042666000109 please ?

Bump ?

Oh, and we tried a different brand router as a test and it connects fine so the issue seems to be unique to the Mikrotik PPPoE client.

I have this same issue. I'm using Draytek Vigor 120's in half bridge mode, but it's a lot of mucking around with MTU settings to make that work. I'd much rather use the Mikrotik as a PPPoE client.
