Hi!
Is it true that after a '/system reset' all ethernet ports are disabled, and that the ONLY way of access is via the serial port?
Greetings,

Yes, it is so!
However, there is an additional setting 'keep-user-config' which saves the entries in '/user' list.

Try to make a simple starting config (with interfaces configured and addresses set) and save it, then use it instead of /system reset (like this: /system backup load name=start )

Problem with any of these is that the interface MAC address is hard coded into the backup so if you change NIC cards or hardware you still have non-working interfaces upon a restore on another machine.
