weird IP in hotspot hosts

Tue Jan 04, 2011 2:34 pm

I have Mikrotik router with hotspot that it has the fallowing setting

WAN : 192.168.0.50 ( connected to LAN of ADSL modem with IP 192.168.0.1)
LAN: 192.168.1.1 ( hotspot ip)

I have client that has AP in client bridge mode. AP IP is 192.1.1.188

and has home router with WAN IP : 192.168.1.189 and Lan network 192.168.10.1/24.

I notice that MAC address of the client's AP is taking two IPs :192.168.1.189 (normal) and 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 (weird why it is taking the hotspot or the modem ip ; the hotspot change this ip to an ip in the range 192.168.1.0/24)

the IP 192.168.1.189 has sign AD but IP 192.168.1.1 has sign D.

Yes, it is possible.
Disable Universal client, if address translation is not required on your router,
/ip hotspot user profile set address-pool=none

I have few clients with wrong IP subnet so the hotspot correct them. Hotspot and DHCP have the same IP pool.

Edit:
I did the command:
/ip hotspot user profile set address-pool=none
but I get line:
 numbers:
what should I typed for this?

Extra:
I try to set the pool to none in servers but the same IPs appear in hots but now they are not translated to another address.

could be that there is a problem with the client router and it is making the mess.

Check the user profile used for the specific clients, run print command and select <number> which belongs to the particular profile.

Is it the same if I set address pool option in Winbox under

IP--->hotspot---->servers----> " a profile with My server name"

Who is online
