logging on using console?

Wed Jan 05, 2011 11:41 pm

Using Winbox I disabled some addresses I thought were no longer used. In doing so I lost my connection. Now I'm trying to log on using console and it never even asks for login, just a password prompt. I have tried putting in password but just get a brief message saying "login failed" Any help appreciated.. According to manuel it should ask me for login then password?

login is always admin
in winbox you should see the ip address login and password
they can be saved or as you say deleted

By disabling addresses you mean you disabled ip addresses of the mikrotik, deleted saved addresses on winbox or disabled interfaces of the mikrotik? If it is 1 and 2 then you can press the ... button on winbox and will show you the mac address of the mikrotik (if you are in a lan). You can connect from there. You can also try to plug the mikrotik in another interface.
