Simple queue - Privileged user

Hello everybody.

I need an urgent help and would really appreciate if you could sort this out for me.

I'm administrating network in a local wireless ISP company. Since we have lack of link (only 10mb on like 300 users), in the evening hours my internet is super slow and I can't administrate my network from home.

My question is, is there a way to put myself as some kind of privileged user and have my regular normal speed like let's say 1mb/512 FLAT, while speed of other users would reduce ?

Basically I need my internet home stable non stop. Is there a way to make me privileged to have normal flat speed ?
Please help me with this, would be really awesome.

Thanks a lot in advance,
Best wishes,
Alex

Start reading up on queues. However, the real solution isn't to make even less bandwidth available to your poor users, but to buy more bandwidth.

Thanks for your replay. Whatsoever, if you are only answering people to get a post count, that's pretty much useless (no offense).

I didn't ask for an advice. I've asked simple question and it would be pretty much great if you could answer it, if not, that's not a problem at all.

Of course, more bandwith would be cool, that ain't and never been in question, if you send some money, I ll be glad to do it.

Anyway, if anyone could really assist me on this, would really appreciate it.
Thank you

There actually was an answer in there: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Queue

Queues have the concept of priority and CIRs. Given that you gave absolutely no details other than 'I want to prioritize traffic and guarantee rates' the best answer I can give is the one I gave: 'use queues'. If you need specific help implementing queues on your specific network you will have to give more details, such as network layout, IP adresdig scheme, and the queuing strategy already in place.

Hey there.

What I will try to do is next.

Since my hotspot generates simple queue made by the actual packet speed on my hotspot, I will make manual queue and drag it over a hotspot default one. By that, my manual queue will hopefully have the priority over the HS one.

Next, on advanced simple queue menu, I will put desired speed at limit at (target upload and download) and I guess queue type should stay default-small.

Parent should be none and priority should be set to 1.

Would this queue work like this ? And will I be prioritized over other users ? Will I have the desired speed ?

Is it possible to set a static IP to my PPPOE connection (ip/add) and under ip interface pick my PPPOE connection ?
I m asking because on the simple queue I have to pick target address and dhcp is enabled so it means I would have to chance the queue each time I log in. So I would assign my home computer a static reserved IP address and enter it into a queue.
