I had a few questions regarding the presentation that Janis did back in 09.

The questions mainly lie with the Traffic Prioritization that he covered toward the end of the presentation.

The biggest question I have is regarding the que placement for the Traffic Prioritization, where do these ques go in the tree with relation to the total upload total download and per user ques? Also are there any config examples floating around out there of the final part related to the traffic prioritization as far as the mangle rules?

I have searched the forums but most everything ends up linking back to that presentation.

It was specially made so that users have to think/do more than just copy/paste.

Is it still possible to mark packets for prioritization when using src-nat because unless I am mistaken you need to mark Src-nat packets in prerouting?

I guess what I am asking as far as que placement is. Are the prioritization ques separate from the other Que trees that have been created to limit clients or does Total_Download become a child of the Prioritization Que?

I think you must place prioritization queues separate from other queues and place them in global-in tree, scheme of the tree will look something like this:

parent_queue(global-in interface)
|
prio1 queue
|
prio2 queue
|
...
|
prio8 queue
