PPPoE pool vs static

Mon Feb 14, 2011 10:56 am

Hi

Is there a way where you can assign PPPoE IPs after a sucsessfull logon that the iP of the User is always the same whenever he logs on.
We currenly use free radius with attributes, framed IP address and framed subnet which works but how can i do the same by just using a mikrotik. is this at all possible?
The DHCP server has a option "static only" where you can enter the static info based on mac address, ip etc for each client, but I see the PPPoE server setup and pool does not support this specific "static only" feature.
Any ideas?

You aren't going to use a RADIUS (you have one but you are trying to avoid it), so you must add secrets for your clients. Just assign the remote-address to the secret and that client will always get that IP.
