I am planning to start a WISP in a small town. I am targetting a userbase of 10,000 users in that town. The radius is approximately 5 kms. For LOS purpose, the town can be divided into two zones. The real estate profile is - there are very rare apartment type constructions. 99.99% are row house types. Max building height is 1 ground + 3 floors.
I plan to hit one potential area in the next month. First target is 2000 customers of avg. 500kbps broadband connections with 1:8 contention ratio.
At main base station, I plan to install R52h + RB433AH with 15/16/17dbi omni antenna. At customer premises, I plan to use ls2/ns2/ps2 depending on the connection strength. I plan to share that CPE by using a switch among nearby houses.
My question is, how many concurrent sessions can this apparatus run? By session, I mean, the end users (given my architecture).
