Our SXT testing

We managed to achieve stable 150Mbit TCP throughput with 2 SXT connected to 2 computers. We used IPerf with 4 threads. Some of our friends established 200Mbit TCP link on 3 km distance. So far, we're happy with the device. Nice job MT!

Hi,
I spent a lot of time with testing of SXT but I still did not find the right setting.
I try to do PtP with two SXTs, but in bandwidth test I achieved only about 35 Mbps.
I am really desparate.
Would you by so kind and want to share your setting?

Is it UDP or TCP bandwidth test?
Many laptops with 100Mb/s ports can only do ~30Mb/s, especially the older ones.
Make sure that you use latest version or v4 or v5.
I suggest to reset the wireless configuration and configure to use both HT chains and enable the Nv2 protocol to get max speed.

How do you make a P-to-P connection between two lvl3 SXT units? Doesn't one of them need to be lvl4? Otherwise these units are a waste of time!

Use mode=bridge on one side and mode=station on the other side - that is all the magic you need to make point-to-point connection with Level3

Tested Sxt found it a very good device. One thing is
annoying. There is not enough space to plug in our
standard Ethernet cables with kink protection.
Please talk to your board designer to move the
Ethernetport to the middle of the board by 2cm.

for indoor tests you might find this, but normally you don't use patch cables on the roof. if you use regular ethernet cable, there is no problem like this. cables longer than 1m don't have those kinds of connector

150Mbit you mentioned here must be 75Mbit TX and 75Mbit RX right ?
or 150Mbit TX and 150Mbit RX ?
I am using old Realtek PCI and managed to get only 70Mbit Full Duplex.
Perhaps the new Gigabit Ethernet will help to get 97Mbit Full duplex ? he he he he :p

Try to update your NIC driver, windows driver wont work propely

Yes, this afternoon, local Mikrotik Forum posted that SXT able to punch 90Mbps full duplex packets,
My mistake is testing this on old laptop.
Will test with the newest notebook and PC, or RB750G

I am trying two SXT lvl3 PtP , got the connection up, but can't get more then 30Mbps Either Direction.
Distance is 500 Feet.

Every situation requires different settings.
It is not just something that can be exchanged.
I would venture to guess that the rx signal on either end of that 500m connection is stronger than -50.
First thing I would recommend is to lower your tx-power in increments and check your speeds.
Work to try to find the optimal settings for your particular link.

By default the SXT board has only one chain enabled. You need to enable the second chain to use both polarizations.
Another suggestion is to enable the ht-extension-channel in order to get 2x20mhz channel option. Both options are located in the HT wireless tab.
We will improve the default configuration on the SXT board so it by default would use both chains.
