RB-SXT real tcp throughput data / picture

Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:27 am

Dear all,

I need someone else data for RB-SXT real TCP throughput.
What i have done:

NotebookPC (Acer Aspire 3680) ---- RBSXT.Client ---------------------- RBSXT.AP---- NotebookPC (Acer Aspire 4xxx 3 months old)

I only got 70 - 80Mbps traffic for tcp test 10 - 20 streams
While the interesting part is,
i replaced the AP with Mikrotik Competitor Radio, i got 90 - 99 Mbit for 10 - 20 streams.

Can someone able to send me data how to config these SXT to get same throughput.
Please notice the different on P Throughput Readings on RBSXT Client.
150Mbps vs 100Mbps average .. :))

Thank you
I will be glad if there is demo of RB-SXT in real throughput test at MUM Indonesia Event, 9-12 April 2011

- Rio.Martin -

Test scenario:
PC -- RBSXT.Client ------ NonMikrotikAP -- PC
PC -- RBSXT.Client ------ RBSXT.AP -- PC

Image
99Mbps throughput single way.

Image
Only 70Mbps throughput single way

:((

Is there any special of setting up the SXT routerboard as far as configurations ?

The HT-Extension-Channel defaults to OFF. That may be your issue.

Yes, you were right. I turned them on and it went up to 270mbps/243mbps tx/rx rates.
I still trying to get it to 300mbps.

With the RB-SXT

--If you use NV2, Remember it (for now) Requires a GI (Guard Interval) Of 800Ns, So that means MAX. Negotiated Air Rate is 270Mbps. With Nstreme you coan use a 400Ns GI And Achieve full 300/300 Air Rates However, The SXT Has a 100M Port, so is not necessary / important to use Nstreme for that reason alone. I've also noticed that it is common for the SXT to drop lower the rate when not much bandwidth is being used, and then will switch to a high modulation as more traffic flows.

I've used a number of them, and they work great. I have a set that get about 15 Megabits of Data across a link that is about -81/-84 DBm in 802.11A / NV2 With only one chain enabled!

HI there,
and how Am I supposed to set these parameters ?Because, in ROS 5.x HT Guard Interval has "any" and "long".
Thanks.

I wrote a tutorial on how to configure your SXT to get the maximum throughput possible....at least in a "lab" setting.

See this post here:

Hope that helps!

I already did that.. running newest firmware and 5.11 OS
the wireless is set to N only, and channel to 20/40 HT above...

Shoud I setup my access point as brigde, station brigde or something else.. I need only point to point link.
tnx

HT Extension Channel was actually moved into the "Channel Width" Drop down menu. As long as you're using "20/40Mhz HT Above or Below" you're using an extension channel.

Hope that helps!
