RouterOS 5.0 - OpenVPN client on RouterOS connects every time to OpenVPN server on LinuxBox.

After upgrading to RouterOS 5.1 and now RouterOS 5.2 without changing the connection settings OpenVPN still connects OK but ONLY after i reboot my Mikrotik 750G.

Then if i disable the open-vpn client and then enable it won't connect anymore. Log says "received bad data" .. If i reboot the RouterOS it connects fine after that. Disable it - and it won't connect unitl the next router reboot.

After downgrade to RouterOS 5.0 everything works fine again. open-vpn client has not been changed in any way.

Any clues? What changed after 5.0?

I have the same problem - OVPN client ROS 5.2, connecting to Linux OVPN server. After around 1 hour of connected state all OVPN client interfaces are disconnected and in log I can see the same error message. I already reported this to support by a ticket [Ticket#2011042866000672] . After downgrading to 5.0 everything is working correctly.

Do i need to report the ticket also?
Can i see the results of your ticket? Is it open for others to see and if yes.. where is it?

I think you can't track my ticket as the communication is going over email. I will try to keep you updated in this post if I will receive any update, but for support should be better if you will send them support.rif file from time, when the issue was occur. It can make faster progress on investigation I think. If you will receive any update, can you share it in this post, please?

Contact support. Downgrade to 5.0

In pre-released version ROS 5.3 the problem is still active. I reported it back to support.

tested 5.3 release. Problem still exists. Also sent supout files to support team.

Just to keep this running... same issue here (ROS 5.2)

I got update from Mikrotik support team, that the issue with "bad data received" should be fixed, it will be released in next versions.

I got a replay form support today that they have been able to reproduce the error. Hope they will find the fix soon.

It was never said that problem will be fixed in v5.3. Problem will be fixed in one of the future versions but not in v5.3.

which pre-release? last build was 30 minutes ago, so you don't have this fix yet. email again for new build.

I just updated to 5.3 and I at least in my environment I can confirm that the BAD_DATA issue seems to be fixed.

Yes, "bad data" is fixed in v5.3

OVPN Client works better on v5.3

Upgraded RB433AH to 5.3 and "bad data received" issue is fixed.

Just fix other OVPN issues and I will be happy
