MikroTik RouterOS 5.2 100% CPU on busy high site

Fri May 20, 2011 8:39 pm

We have a situation where after a few days two of our busy routers on high sites are hitting 100% CPU use. When I say busy the one router has about 110 users and the other about 50. Both routers never had CPU issues on 4.17. The hardware is the same on both high sites, 433AH

At this point the only real indictor that something is hogging the CPU is by looking at /ip route print.

You execute '/ip route print' and nothing happens.

The router functions otherwise and seems to be performing well but existing PPP users who's 24 hour limit expire are unable to re-attach to the router.

So possibly the problem is related to PPP or the PPPoE server on the high site

I have attached a screen shot.

I need an urgent workaround.

Edit: I want to add that this router also does OSPF and I have attached a graph of the problem.
