OSPF Virtual Links

We currently have a network running on ROS v3.30, and need to / want to upgrade to v5.x, issue being when we upgrade routers our current configuration is broke for OSPF Virtual Links. I have read in a few places that Virtual Links may have a bug in them, and found some reference to work-a-rounds using EoIP tunnels, and loopback interfaces, but no instructions / config examples. Basically I would like to know:

1) Is OSPF Virtual Links truly broken, or is their a configuration difference? (In v3.30 you use the remote router's "Router ID", is this still so?)
2) If it is truly bugged, what is a configuration example to use tunnels?

I just find it hard to believe Mikrotik has not fixed something like Virtual Links since test-routing packing in v3.30, as everyone seems to claim.

Example:
Area 0 ===> Area 1 ===> Area 2
Backbone

I need to create a virtual link (or tunnel) to the backbone from area 2. If I have to make a tunnel, I do NOT want it to pass any traffic.

Thank You.

Mikrotik Support:
Hello,

Some of the routes may not be distributed over virtual links. It is a known
problem and will be addressed in new routing that we are working on right now.

There are a lot of examples on how to use tunnels in wiki, for example
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:In ... p_examples

Maris

Has this virtual-link issue be addressed yet? I noticed I only have a problem on a router that has 3 virtual links to the same subnet... Hope that will help find a solution.
